Jacki Rodrigues is a dance instructor, choreograper, competition administrator, and fitness instructor based in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Originally from Rhode Island, Jacki trained at Centerstage Dance Academy under the direction of Tina Vittorioso. Jacki now calls Tina her colleague through the work at Take Centerstage Dance Challenge, a national dance competition.
After graduating from Barrington High School in 2007, Jacki went on to study Civil Engineering, Dance, and Spanish at the University of Delaware. While a student at UD, she was an intergral member of Delaware Dance Fever, a competitive student-run dance company. Jacki acted as a dancer, choreographer, and board member throughout her four years and planned the first-ever DDF Spring Showcase.
Jacki relocated to Hampton Roads, Virginia after graduating upon taking a job as an Engineer with Electric Boat. After three years with the company and juggling dance life with work life, she realized that engineering was not her calling. She now works as the Director of Operations and Marketing for Take Centerstage Dance Challenge, a company that she helped create while a Freshman at the University of Delaware. Additionally, she instructs dance at a local studio, coaches an area high school dance team, and instructs fitness classes. Her classes focus on expressive performance grounded in strong technique. Lyrical is her first love, but she also enjoys teaching contemporary, jazz, ballet, acrobatics, and musical theatre. Jacki's students have received regional and national recoginition and have been accepted to prestigious programs such as the Virginia Governor’s School for the Arts, the Nutmeg Ballet Conservatory Professional Training Program, the University of the Arts Summer Institute, and Virginia Commonwealth University Dance Program. If she's not teaching dance, she can be found at the beach, reading a book (crime novels are her favorite!), or hanging out with friends.
